So, you’re thinking about joining a Life Team? Great! A Life Team’s impact in large measure depends upon the commitment of its members. This short page will help you decide if becoming a Life Team Member (LTM) is right for you.
First, relax. You don’t need to be perfect to be a LTM. You just need to know what it involves. For starters, here are some basic statements you need to be able to say “amen” to:
- I know and trust Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.
- I am willing to be initially trained and regularly encouraged by Churches for Life.
- I want to be on the Team; to be a Team member in this area of interest.
- I can give at least 1 hour per week to my role as a LTM, not including the regular monthly meeting.
- I have the emotional and spiritual headroom to be a LTM. I’m not already overcommitted or facing too many personal demands.
As you’re thinking this through, it might help to look at a basic list of LTM responsibilities:
- Get initially trained in CFL’s Life Team 101 (live or by DVD, 4 hours total)
- Receive regular encouragement and mentoring from CFL
- Attend and contribute to the Life Team’s goals at the monthly meeting and between meetings as needed
