Who is a Life Team Leader? Life Team Leader - Job Description

Qualifications

  1. Relax.  Before reading more about qualifications, remember:
    • There is no such thing as a perfect leader
    • CFL will help you get started: we have great training (Life Team Leader Training) just for you
    • CFL will walk with and mentor you all along the way
  2. If you can say "yes" to the questions below, God could have equipped you to explore being a Life Team Leader or Co-Leader.  Remember,  perfection is not necessary!
    • Are you wiling to be trained and regularly encouraged as a leader by CFL?
    • Do you have a pretty good relationship with Jesus?
    • Do you have some passion for the life arena?
    • Do you have a desire to lead or co-lead?
    • Do you have some leadership ability?  That is, do you have some ability to clarify a destination and organize people to get there?  (See "Responsibilities," below, for more clarity on this.)
    • Are you, or can you become, available?  That is, do you have (1) about 1-2 hours/week for this task, and (2) the emotional and spiritual "headroom" to give the task your energy and attention?  
    • Would your friends confirm your answers to the questions above?    
Responsibilities - Remember, CFL is here to equip and coach you in every one of your responsibilities!
  1. Get trained at Life Team Leader Training - either by DVD or live class format (takes ~4 hours)
  2. Receive continual encouragement and occasional mentoring from CFL
  3. If leading a brand new Team, CFL will help you cast the vision and convene those interested in it
  4. Get members together for Team meetings, prepare an agenda, and run the meeting
  5. Keep the Team focused
  6. Connect with your Team's pastoral oversight to share information
  7. Manage the Team's budget, if given one by the church
CFL Supports You
  1. CFL initial training - Life Team Leader Training - in DVD or live class formats
  2. Robust hands-on contact during the start-up phase of your Team
  3. Continuing encouragement via email, CFL News, etc.
  4. Regular personal contact and/or visits as needed and agreed
  5. Team mentoring - CFL will connect you to an experienced Life Team and Leader for insights and encouragement
  6. Online articles and helps for Life Team Leaders
  7. Prayer support from the CFL Staff and Board
  8. Cyber-community for Life Team Leaders *coming soon* - share ideas, praises, needs, and prayer requests with other Life Team Leaders
  9. Online resources on our website, www.getintolife.org
