It’s easy to get discouraged as a champion of life. The tsunami of death seems to roll on and on and we often feel like specs in its wake. But take heart, friends. Remember that even this tsunami will certainly evaporate in the wake of God’s promise to remake this world as a radiant place of life beyond our wildest dreams! As we wait for Him to establishthat glorious reality, remember that faithfulness, not fruitfulness, is a key measure of success in God’s Kingdom. Drink in this quote by Henry Ward Beecher, the princely preacher of The Plymouth Church in Connecticut (1813-1887): “Love, in this world, is like a seed taken from the tropics, and planted where the winter comes too soon; and it can not spread itself in flower clusters, and wide twining vines, so that the whole air is filled with the perfume thereof. But there is to be another summer for it yet. Care for the root now, and God will care for the top by and by.”1 At night, when you lay your head on the pillow, ask not, “Did the fruit come in today?” but, “Was I faithful today to enjoyand walk faithfully with Christ?” A “yes” to the latter question will be as a soft pillow, regardless of the fruit you may or may not have witnessed. Your “care for the root now” is a task of faithfulness. Enjoy that task and sleep soundly on that pillow.

Central Presbyterian’s Life Team has put together an evening talk by their Senior Pastor, Dr. Dan Doriani on this subject, March 7, 6:30-8:00pm. Everyone is invited. Life Teams should come, too, to see how such an event is run for possible replication in their own church.
Our partner, The National Coalition for the Protection of Children and Families, publishes some great and very relevant booklets, bible studies, pamphlets, and other items to help you and those around you understand and live out God’s plan in these important areas of life.
We have received many kind expressions of sympathy at the passing of our dearly loved mentor and friend, Arne Molbach. Thank you also to the many who have given a memorial gift in his memory to see his legacy as a champion of life continue.
Read this 350-word article to find out! It’s a great article to pass on to friends and start conversations.
This box enables your congregation to champion life by giving them an attractive, permanent point to give diapers and other baby items to moms and dads in crisis pregnancies, which in turn makes it easier for them to choose and nourish life.
